An embossment is created from pressing, at high pressure, a metal die into the stationery (similar to the dies used for engraved lettering except without the ink). This pressing creates an intricate raised indentation that gives your stationery a personalized and elegant look. We have many house embossments (see the graphics below), as well as the ability to create a custom embossment for your use (see the pictures to either side).
Embossed invitations are extremely elegant and have a great feel from the raised symbol. Embossments add an understated, yet dramatic, touch to your invitations. If you have any questions, let our friendly, knowledgeable staff work with you to get just the right invitation. If would like to incorporate an image but do not see it below, please contact us for an estimate on the cost. Our motifs and ornaments can serve as the basis for your embossing die. Single levels dies begin at $50 and multi-level dies start at $125 (with coats of arms and very intricate dies typically around $325 - $425).
Adding a house embossment adds $30.00 for the first 100 impressions and $0.27 for each additional one. If you ordered 200 invitations, the cost for an embossment on all of them would be $57.00.

**Note that the Embossment is not a color but an impression on the paper. Samples seen here have been enhanced with color to better show the dimensions of the impression made on the paper.
